DNow at FBCPS!
Do me a favor and think about your day today. What was it filed with? School, sports, work, clubs, social media, tv, video games, God? We have the opportunity to be the busiest generations that has ever been. As a matter of fact, culture tells us that if we slow down we will not be able to keep up. David reminds us in the 46th Psalm we are called to "Be Still and know that He is God!" So this weekend of Disciple Now we are going to do just that. Our theme for this weekend is PAUSE! A Pause can help us gain perspective, be reminded of what it is we are doing, and help us refocus. Pausing does not mean quit. After the weekend you will be back at your schools, on your teams, at your work place, and in your home. It does however allow us change the pace. Just like in schools there are breaks and in sports there are timeouts and half times, Pausing will allow us to rekindle and refresh. So, talk to your friends, your classmates, your teammates, and your neighbors and encourage them to join you as we slow down and focus on what the Lord wants for us and how He desires to use us. I promise it will be well worth your time!
Speaker for the Weekend
Andrew is a local guy who has been in the area for 14 years. He is originally from Miami. He works with FCA and helped start FCA Haiti. He has served at a local church for several years before the Lord had other plans for Him and his family. In his spare time from working with FCA, Andrew travels around sharing the Great news of the Gospel. We are blessed to have him join us Saturday evening of DNow. He is marred to Ruth and they have one little boy. You are going to enjoy hearing from Andrew and what the Lord speaks through him.
Musician for the Weekend
If you went to winter camp back in 2017 you will remember Lacy (Gatlin) Russell. Lacy helps lead worship at Johnson Ferry Baptist church and does a fantastic job in leading us into the presence of God. We are super excited about her coming back and bringing her friends to lead us for the weekend. BTW, she just recently got married!
